It depends! Because you are supplementing your endocannabinoid system, and many people have imbalances in this system, you may experience a variety of results. People commonly feel a sense of full body relaxation and stressful feelings can often feel diminished. Some users report an almost immediate reduction in pain and inflammation from chronic conditions in their bodies.
Our products stand out because they are made in small batches from the highest quality ingredients. That starts with full spectrum cannabis grown on small Oregon farms that is extracted to ensure that the constituents in the plant are preserved in the finished product. The added plant terpenes work in concert with the cannabinoids to help amplify the effects, so you may experience a much more profound impact with this product. Finally, all of our products are third-party tested by ISO certified labs. This ensures the purity of the product to our customers.
CBD is more effective when it is consumed as a full spectrum extract, meaning that the extract contains a suite of different cannabinoids, flavonoids, and terpenes that reflect the original composition of the compounds in the flower that it was extracted from. Full spectrum extracts have been demonstrated to exhibit what is referred to as the “entourage effect,” where the different plant compounds, when featured together, magnify the therapeutic effects of the plant. At Humboldt Apothecary, we believe in the importance of full spectrum extracts and all of our products contain them.
The hemp used in our products is non GMO and comes from farms in Oregon. It is grown using organic methods which means there are no harmful pesticides used in the process. It is extracted using a cryogenic ethanol extraction process. Ethanol is a plant-based solvent that is made via a process of plant fermentation. It is highly efficient at extracting a wide range of plant compounds within the cannabis plant. Because alcohols are bipolar in nature, they are able to form bonds with both water-soluble and fat-soluble plant compounds, making it the only solvent capable of preserving the chemical ratios as they exist in the plant in nature. At the end of this process, the alcohol is carefully removed leaving a clean, pure extract. Because of this, it is the best choice for someone looking to reap the full benefits of a full-spectrum extract for health and wellness.
MCT stands for medium chain triglyceride and it is a popular supplement that is typically manufactured from palm and/or coconut oils. At Humboldt Apothecary, we only use MCT oil derived from organic coconuts due the devastation of rain forests from the overharvesting of palm oil. MCT oil has a mild coconut flavor.
You should store your oil in a cool, dark place to maximize the shelf life. We have added vitamin E as a preservative to further increase the shelf life, and if stored properly, should be good for up to two years.
Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds found in the Cannabis sativa plant. The most commonly known cannabinoids are CBD and THC. However, there are many other lesser known cannabinoids such as CBN, CBC, and CBG to name a few. Each cannabinoid exhibits unique healing properties by interacting with specific cannabinoid receptors present on the surface of cells in our endocannabinoid system. Our products contain full spectrum hemp oil which contains CBD, less than .3% THC, and a variety of other cannabinoids to increase the therapeutic value.
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a complex cell signaling system that exists in all mammals and was identified by scientists in the 1990’s. So far, it is known that it regulates several functions and processes in the body including sleep, mood disorders, inflammation and other immune responses and memory to name a few. Our bodies produce endocannabinoids and they interact with receptor sites that are located in our bodies. Our modern day lifestyles interrupt the production of endocannabinoids which causes a deficiency in our ECS resulting in imbalance. This is where hemp can come into play. CBD molecules fit into our receptor sites and can help bring our bodies into balance.
